Manc vs Marbs: The Battle of the Burgers

We’ve come a long way since the days of “Change your burger to a Burger King burger”, haven’t we? Fast food is, and always has been, pretty shit unless you’re using it as an alcohol-absorbing sponge. A decent burger however, simply cannot be beaten.

Loaded got taste-bud-deep in the first and last bite of two of the best burgers we’ve come across to see if it’s a home run or an away game.

Manchester: BURGERISM

It’s a sunny evening, you’ve got a beer in hand and the next thought is “What’s for dinner?”

Firing up the BBQ is always an option. A perfectly grilled burger, fresh off the coals with a generous number of toppings: cheese, mayo and bacon. Hmmm. But realistically, that means a trip to the shop, which interrupts welcome beer time.

Back to Deliveroo! It’s not all soggy fish ‘n’ chips.

Rapper Aitch and boxer Tommy Fury have started ordering burgers online from Manchester-based delivery brand BURGERISM.

The brand prides itself on restaurant-quality, meaty burgers that are fully loaded with protein.

The Loaded favourite: The ‘Wholly Double’ has 100g of protein in it, with the meat coming from a locally sourced, Cheshire farm – just what we like to hear when we’re chowing down on a juicy patty.

The entire menu tastes absolutely banging and the prices are decent. Almost worth taking a Ryanair flight back from Marbs for…

Marbella: Dak Burger

If you don’t fancy the Ryanair flight home or you’re about to escape the gloom and doom, Dak Burger is well worth a bit of man vs food action.

The American-style menu takes you on a mouth-watering tour from the ‘Big Dak’ to the ‘Manhattan Tower’ and man, does it hit the sweet spot!

The beef is absolutely top notch and every single ingredient in every single burger is fresh, flavourful and fully loaded with extras.

Dak tours the country with its one-off specials and invites many a food challenge to its Malaga-based eateries. If you’re looking for a real burger experience outside of the US, this is where it’s at.

The Loaded Favourite: the ‘Vaca Vieja’, which translates as ‘old cow’ is packed with entrecôte meat, steak-constructed burger meat, garlic mayo, cheese and onion. From the first bite to the last slither that sits in the oesophagus, this burger has you wanting more calories, more meat and more burger action.

Eat in diner style or order on Glovo, which is basically the Spanish version of JustEat or Deliveroo.

We’ll be back for Dak!

The Loaded Verdict: It’s 1-1 in the battle of Manc vs Marbs. Dak takes it for that all American menu, whilst BURGERISM does it for the local team.
