Pure Cannabliss

Forget the Dam, there’s a new, sunnier coffee shop on the scene. Ca...
Pure Cannabliss

Picture a really cool daytime pool lounge. Somewhere that serves banging food and drink with a chilled out vibe, good music and super relaxed vibe. Add some awesome green into the mix and it sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?

Thanks to my mate in Marbella, it’s now possible (and legal) to experience the good life outside of the Dam. I won’t name him, (he’s shy), but not only does the dude look like Lee Evans’ twin, he’ll give you a warmer welcome than a rookie TUI rep.

Cannabliss, as it’s aptly named, opened its doors in May 2022 in the heart of Marbella. “There’s nowhere in the world like it,” says he who won’t be named. “Just try to copy us, I challenge you.” To be fair, mate or not, he’s right as far as my well-travelled arse can tell. The last time I sat and got stoned (or tried to), was in a coffee shop in Amsterdam. I was spending a weekend with two mates and we ended up so bored after the shit weed and even shittier dope cake that we went to watch an even shittier sex show, before finally donating our no-holes-barred evening tickets to an even more bored punter at the hotel bar. The Dam has had its day if you ask me. Back to the real stuff…

Cannabliss is nestled among pretty much the most serene surroundings you can imagine. This is not a holiday leaflet, but it’s true. You can see the mountains for miles, stare at the sea, sit among the palm trees and choose from a number of chillout areas, both indoors and out, that are designed to ease your stress and press pause on your problems. I’m yet to meet someone at Cannabliss who’s not friendly and inviting. And even though a lot of the guests are regulars (they operate a club membership), you can visit for a day or two if you’re on holiday and feel equally at home.

They don’t serve alcohol and it's not needed. I often pop in for a coffee or a smoothie, just because their drinks are so damn good and the memo lifts my mood. The summer food menu is like something out of the world’s greatest beach and barbecue cook show (there’s not one, but there should be), and they even offer weekly hikes and activities on a Wednesday. “Yeah man, we got martial arts, yoga and meditation and group hiking sessions every week now,” says Evans’ Mark II. “And let me show you our house strains.” He’s referring to the weird and wonderful jars of green displayed behind the bar, from which you can pick from unique house strains plus dozens of different flowers. I opt from ‘strawberry creamsicle’, a house special that can only be found at Cannabliss. One puff and I’m chilled enough to enjoy a good chat without that ‘stoned’ or monged out feeling. It’s obvious people don’t come here to get stoned. Cannabliss doesn't have that druggy vibe. “It’s a holistic home where you can come to get fed well, drink well and relax,” I’m told. “We hope you’ll leave feeling healed and less stressed. This is not the dispensary route, it’s a place you can come to offset anxiety and have an awesome day. We also offer house remedies and treat a number of people with ailments who say they feel better. Cannabliss is a lifestyle, not just a coffee shop. We have over 20 strains always available. We do other cannabinoid products too, like oils and creams.”

The venue is closed on Sundays except for special events and hosts both male and female visitors. There is also a really nicely kitted out guest house upstairs that offers stays from one night to one week.
