Threesomes – you’ve either had one, thought about having one, or know someone that’s had one. They’ve become far less of a ‘big deal’ since the good old '90s. In fact, threesomes are now one of the top three most viewed categories in porn.

The app, which is designed for 'open-minded' people, has reported a significant rise in the number of British users seeking threesomes since 2020.

“Younger people are more likely to get involved in group sex compared to older ones,” says best-selling sex author Serena Novelli. “The younger crowd are more open to trying new stuff as it’s become more socially acceptable for their age group.”
Don’t rule yourself out if you’re going grey down there though. It just depends on what floats your boat! “Research carried out by the University of East Anglia suggests that gay and bisexual men over 70 may continue to have a sex life with multiple partners, while straight women become less sexually active after the age of 50,” says Serena. “The same study also found that only 2% of straight people over 70 reported multiple partners.”
Apparently, millennials are pretty disconnected from politics and religion compared to our past generations, and that seems to be influencing how they see things like threesomes and group sex.
For the first time on record, the number of people getting married in England and Wales has fallen below 50% (stats by office for national statistics). “Despite these figures, monogamy does still seem to be the go-to,” says Serena. “A study by Debbie Herbenick in the journal PLOS ONE found that only 10% of women and 18% of blokes have actually had a threesome. It turns out despite what people might think, most men (like 65-74%) and women (around 90%) aren’t really into threesomes or group shenanigans.”
