LOW EFFORT. HIGH IMPACT. SORT YOUR HAIR FOR SPRING.
This spring and summer, we’re ditching the 45-minute mirror sessions. The vibe? Low effort, high impact. Less faffing. More living. When the weather warms up, no one wants to be battling a hairdryer at 7am. It’s about working with what you’ve got, not fighting it.
The biggest shift I’m seeing? Guys leaning into their natural texture instead of trying to iron it into submission.
Curly or Wavy? Let It Live.
If you’ve got curls, now’s your moment. Go mid-length or slightly longer on top, keep the sides and back tighter, and leave a bit of overhang so the hair can fall naturally. Don’t over-structure it. Let it move.
Styling-wise, keep it simple. A good curl cream or styling cream is essential, and a curl spray can give you extra definition. Put the product in, let it dry naturally and walk away. Seriously - stop touching it. The more you fiddle, the more frizz you create. If frizz is your enemy, a lightweight hair oil will smooth things out, add a bit of shine and keep it looking sharp without weighing it down.

Short Hair? Go French (But Not Military).
The French crop is still king - but we’re moving away from super-tight skin fades. Think slightly longer sides, more texture on top, and sometimes even a subtle mullet-inspired edge through the back. It’s softer, cooler and way more wearable.
To style it, grab a salt spray and rough-dry using just your hands and a hairdryer. Build that natural texture. Then finish with Fudge Professional Matte Hed (£9.99). It’s strong, matte and gives you shape without that greasy shine. Work a small amount through from the back first, push everything up for volume, then settle it into place. Done.
Mid-Length & Longer: The Smart Hack
If you’ve got longer hair and want that groomed, polished look for a night out or big meeting, here’s the cheat code.
Wash and condition your hair 30–40 minutes before you need to leave. When you get out of the shower, comb it directly into the exact shape you want while it’s damp - slick back, side parting, whatever your move is.
Then lightly mist Fudge Skyscraper Extra Hairspray (£9.95) over it. It’s got serious hold but still brushes out cleanly. Leave it alone and let it dry naturally. No complicated blow-drying. No stress.
Once it’s dry, gently brush through to soften it up, then finish with your product of choice - a soft paste, styling cream, or again Matte Hed if you want that controlled texture. Need it bulletproof? One final mist of Skyscraper and you’re locked in.
This method’s perfect if you’re going gym to office to drinks. Comb it into shape in the morning, brush it out later for something more relaxed, then sharpen it up again for the evening. One cut, multiple personalities.
That’s the goal this season. Hair that works hard without you having to.
Low effort. High impact. Sorted.
