Pump Up Look Sharp
How to Get Prepped for a Chiselled Chin and Bigger Bits
There’s been an estimated 70% increase in male cosmetic procedures in the UK over the last five years. In 2023 alone, over 40,000 British blokes went under the knife or needle. And according to our mates at cosmetic surgery brand Sur Wellness, sharp jawlines and bigger dicks are leading the charge.
"Men are becoming more aware of their appearance, and they’re realising that there’s no shame in wanting to look their best,” sys founder Karen Addison. “In today’s world, where social media and selfies are part of everyday life, men are under more pressure than ever to maintain a certain image.”
Addison also points out that societal shifts have played a role. "We’re entering a new era where men are taking charge of their looks and their lives," she adds. "It’s not about vanity—it’s about empowerment."
Here’s what we’re apparently signing up for:
Jawline Contouring
Want to look like you could take a punch and still keep that model-esque look? Jawline contouring is where it’s at. Usually done with fillers, this quick and relatively painless procedure gives you that strong, chiselled jaw that’s all over your son’s Instagram.
“Jawline contouring is the go-to for lads wanting to up their game without breaking the bank,” says Karen.
FINANCIAL DAMAGE: £200 to £500.
Lipo
When the gym ain’t doing the trick, lipo steps in.
“It’s quick, effective, and the results speak for themselves,” says Karen.
FINANCIAL DAMAGE: £2,000 to £4,000, depending on the area.
Moob Removal
Gynecomastia surgery (or male breast reduction), is on the rise. This procedure removes excess fat and glandular tissue.
“This surgery gives men a flatter, more masculine chest,” says Karen.
FINANCIAL DAMAGE: £3,500 to £6,000
Penis Enlargement
Now for the big one. Oh yes! Penis enlargement procedures, whether through surgery or fillers, are becoming more popular than ever.
“Whether it’s about boosting confidence in the bedroom or just wanting a bit more down there, blokes are lining up for this,” says Karen. “The procedure’s quick, and the results? Let’s just say they speak for themselves.”
FINANCIAL DAMAGE: Up to £4,000
Blokes are no longer shying away from the idea of self-improvement. "It’s about more than just physical appearance, it’s about feeling good in your own skin,” says Karen. “The majority of our clients are regular guys in their 30s to 50s who want to look as good as they feel. The stigma around male cosmetic surgery is fading fast.”
