THE CLAUSE: Victim Of A Casual Thing ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Clause stroll into their debut album with the utmost confidence. Victim of a Casual Thing is all riffs, attitude, and late-night bravado. It’s the sound of a band who’ve spent too long in the shadows, talking big dreams and finally backed them up.
“Nothing’s As It Seems” comes out swinging, chunky guitars, wiry funk bass, and Pearce Macca’s vocals dripping with cool. The lads aren’t shy about their influences. You’ll hear shades of Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, maybe even a bit of The 1975 on the smoother cuts, but they make it their own with a glossy, cinematic edge. “Tell Me What You Want” could fill a tent at Reading. “Weekend Millionaire” is another stand-out, with its jangly guitars and punchy rhythm.
It’s slick, confident, and bursting with chaos. It’s conclusive proof that they’re ready for the big league.
