Sleaford Mods: The Demise Of Planet X ⭐⭐⭐⭐

God knows there’s plenty to be angry about these days. The Demise of Planet X is Sleaford Mods kicking the bin lid of modern Britain down the street and shouting at it until it apologises. Jason Williamson is in full gob mode here, spitting, sneering, and unloading pub-level philosophy with the accuracy of a bloke who’s been thinking about this stuff since his third pint. It’s funny, ugly, and bang on the nose.

Andrew Fearn’s beats are perfect, as always. And that’s the beauty of it. There’s no musical showing off, no indie disco nonsense, just grim little grooves that trudge along while Williamson unloads on politicians, culture, and anyone still pretending things are “basically fine.”

This isn’t an album for people who want hope, growth, or a nice chorus to hum. The Demise of Planet X is for those who enjoy their music like their comedy: dry, brutal, and delivered with a smirk. Sleaford Mods haven’t evolved so much as doubled down, and quite frankly, good on them. In a world going steadily down the pan, they’re still pointing, laughing, and calling it exactly what it is.
