Embrace: Avalanche “Glorious”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Avalanche finds the Yorkshire band leaning into the emotional honesty and soaring melodies that have defined their best work for nearly three decades. Across its ten tracks, the album balances reflective songwriting with an uplifting sense of resilience, creating a record that feels both mature and refreshingly unguarded.
Songs such as "Stop" and "Road to Nowhere" showcase the band's knack for combining anthemic choruses with intimate lyrical themes, while Danny McNamara's vocals remain as heartfelt and expressive as ever. The album's title reflects its central idea: the overwhelming rush of life's small but meaningful moments.
Musically, Avalanche avoids chasing contemporary trends and instead refines the expansive rock sound Embrace has cultivated throughout their career. Rich guitar textures, warm keyboard layers, and carefully constructed crescendos give the record a sense of scale without sacrificing its emotional core.
Tracks like "Coming Home" and "The Power" highlight the band's ability to build tension and release, creating the kind of stadium-sized moments that longtime fans will immediately recognise.
Absolutely glorious.
