We’ve always loved her work, and her latest release, Pylon, sees beabadoobee take a bold step forward, embracing a louder, rougher and more emotionally charged sound. Building on the indie-rock foundations of her earlier work, the album brings together distorted guitars, grunge influences and the ’90s alternative rock we all crave.
Lyrically, the album is as honest as ever and includes a certain vulnerability, exploring relationships, uncertainty, nostalgia and the messy process of getting older.
Beabadoobee balances heavier, energetic tracks with softer and more intimate moments, giving the album plenty of variety without losing the punch.
Pylon is an exciting and confident new chapter for beabadoobee, and we’re already shortlisting her latest offering for our Album of the Year.
