Echo and the Bunnymen: “What Are You Going To Do With Your Life?” ⭐⭐⭐⭐
'What Are You Going to Do with Your Life?' was the eighth studio album by British post-punk legends Echo & The Bunnymen. Originally released on April 16, 1999, it never really got the credit it deserved at the time, so if you want to give it another shot, here it is- remastered and in its full glory. Hey, it’s even got those cheeky ‘young’ rapsters Fun Loving Criminals on it.
It also contains one of their finest moments in the track “Rust”. A glorious song of anguish, pain, and hope; exactly what the Bunnymen do best.
The whole album flows seamlessly, and you know what? If they’d stuck some sleigh bells on it, they might even have gotten away with releasing this as a Christmas album. It’s got that laid-back “put your feet up and have another glass of mulled wine” kind of vibe to it.
Perhaps not their best album, but it screams to be rediscovered.
Stand-out tracks: “Rust”, “Baby Rain.
