The man was subverting beats while others stayed in the same old groove. It's safe to say that when it comes to new music; Santa came early this year - stop it - and has delivered so much great new music it's been a blessing. It just keeps on arriving, sack unloaded weekly into my ears. I've therefore left it right to the wire this year as I just know there'll be more gifts arriving about 5 minutes after I've pressed send on this and it's in the hands of Loaded's Editor Supreme.
So turn it up, enjoy, keep an eye out for the grower of all growers from The Charlatans, crafted as only they can (in my book anyway). 'For The Girls' is an ode to keepin' on with a marriage, and doing it for the kids. I'll leave that one there, don't want to be responsible for any hanging heads! Baxter Dury's 'Allbarone' is a shiny bauble in itself, and there are tasters of new bodies of work from Kings of Leon, De La Soul and Kula Shaker (see Loaded special from June this year), and the furiously perfectly disgusting Crissy Criss anniversary remix of Brown Paper Bag (again, dip into the Roni interview with Loaded from September). Don't know who wrote it but what a legend.
