A Chair for Life

We’ve all got a ‘bag for life’. It grows with you doesn’t it? The plastic on the bottom fades with every shop, but 50p for a new one is ludicrous. We’ve not actually tested the duration of varying supermarket plastics, but they’re not ‘for life’ are they? And the paper ones just split under the pressure of a six-pack.

How about a ‘chair for life’ then? Shuffling the dining table about when the kids are joining in can be stressful, especially when they get food stuck in the various intimately designed crevices of a plastic highchair.

Enter the Tripp Trapp chair from Stokke. The chair that promises to grow with you for life. Suitable from baby age to adulthood, it looks a lot nicer than any other highchair we’ve seen, but how did it fare during a family roast?

Putting up the Trapp

Thankfully this is no IKEA puzzle. We shoved the chair together in less than 5-minutes without breaking it. The wood is really good quality and the instructions are simple.

The Toddler Test

We put an 18-month old in the Tripp Trapp. He didn’t scream and appeared to be comfortable and content. A rarity!

The Food Fight

Toddlers + food = mess, right? Wrong! This chair doesn’t have nooks and crannies that collect regurgitated mouthfuls. It was pretty hard for our trial child to make a mess.

The Adult Antics

We sat in the chair ourselves and low and behold, it’s super comfy! Just remove the tray and yep, you can genuinely sit in this as an adult. Bonus!

Naughty chair anyone?
