Move over Kane: Harry Mane is in Town!
Longleat lions put on an impressive display of close ball control skills ahead of the start of European Championships.
Harry could be the mane man in England’s quest for football glory as the European Championships kick off in Germany.
We could be talking about England striker Harry Kane but this is Harry Mane, one of Longleat’s famous lions and he, along with lionesses Betty, Little A and Malnika, demonstrated some impressive ball soccer skills as they enjoyed enrichment time with footballs in the lead up to the tournament.
It was captured on camera by keeper Ian Turner and videographer Tom Anders who with the rest of the squad at the Wiltshire estate are rooting for England striker Harry Kane and teammates in Sunday’s opener against Serbia.
Longleat’s football connections go all the way back to England’s World Cup win in July 1966, the safari park – which was the first to open outside Africa in the same year – was visited by the World Cup referees which included Gottfried Dienst, who officiated in the final when England famously beat West Germany 4-2.
